Meet Dr. Mike Terreblanche

Dr. Mike Terreblanche is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon practicing in Cape Town in the Western Cape.

He is a practicing hip surgeon in Cape Town and knee surgeon in Cape Town.

He has a deep passion for helping patients achieve optimal musculoskeletal health. Growing up in Durban, KwaZulu Natal, Dr. Terreblanche was inspired by his father, a highly regarded orthopaedic surgeon, and developed a fascination with human biology during his high school years.

Dr. Terreblanche's academic journey began at the University of Cape Town, where he earned his MBChB qualification in 2011. After completing his internship in Pietermaritzburg and a year of community service at a district hospital in KwaZulu Natal, he pursued advanced orthopaedic training at the University of the Witwatersrand. His training included extensive experience at the renowned Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital and the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital.

In 2021, Dr. Terreblanche became a Fellow of the College of Orthopaedic Surgeons of South Africa. He further specialized with fellowships in hip and knee replacement surgery at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital and the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in Scotland. He also completed a Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2023.

As a dedicated member of the South African Orthopaedic Association (SAOA), Dr. Terreblanche stays at the forefront of medical advancements to provide his patients with the best possible care. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys sports, particularly rugby and cricket, reflecting his active and dynamic lifestyle.
